or on the caller's end during my calls Our experience has been that a failure of the phone's handset cord (the curly one) is usually the culprit. A quick and low-cost repair that you can do yourself will solve this problem in minutes. First, try switching handset cords with a known working phone to see if the problem goes away. If it does, there's a good chance that you can obtain a replacement handset cord on your own and plug it in yourself. There's also a good chance that the handset itself is failing, but by swapping it with one known to be working at another phone, it's easy to isolate the problem. |

Often, it ends up stretched too far, pinched beneath furniture legs or smashed by the wheels of a desk chair. Try changing the cord with a known good cord.
